A prophet have sxual relationship with his two daughters!

comparisons · 26 July, 2026

How can Lot be considered a prophet or a righteous man chosen by God? According to the Bible, God saved him from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah because he was supposedly righteous. But then, just a short time later, the Bible tells us that he had sexual relations with his own daughters. To me, that doesn't make sense.

If prophets are supposed to be the best examples of morality and obedience to God, why are they portrayed in stories like this? This isn't the only example, either. Throughout the Bible, we read about prophets and other people chosen by God committing serious sins—adultery, murder, deception, and other acts that seem completely inconsistent with their role as God's messengers.

These accounts raise an important question: Why would God choose individuals who are portrayed as committing such grave sins to serve as examples for humanity? I find it difficult to reconcile these narratives with the idea that prophets are meant to represent the highest standard of righteousness and moral character.
